GMC is actively seeking a full-time Architectural Designer in our Atlanta, GAoffice. The CAD Specialist will be involved in all stages of design and construction and will assist project managers in producing documents and managing the projects.  Applicant should be well organized and able to work within a design system, and a good communicator willing and able to network with outside consultants and AHJs to assist in driving the project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs Advanced knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit is a plus
• Proficiency in Adobe Products/Bluebeam
• Experience with architectural, engineering or construction drawings
• Ability to think in a 3D environment
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Excel required
• Advanced knowledge in building information modeling programs and applicable techniques
• Ability to effectively meet and accommodate deadlines on multiple projects
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Associates Degree in Drafting/Design/Architecture or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school or equivalent experience or accreditation
• Minimum of 3-5 years of technical and construction document production experience
• Basic understanding of building codes, building systems, and engineering systems
• Working knowledge and practice skills of architectural product systems
• Working knowledge of A&E work standards, processes, and policies
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, to manage deadlines and prioritize assignments
• Understanding of the tasks associated with the preparation of construction documents
