GMC is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Nashville, TN team and provide support on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.  This individual will serve as a technical designer on municipal drinking and wastewater projects in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing technical engineering in study, planning, design, construction administration, and start-up services for water/wastewater treatment utilities in the Southeast.
  • Developing necessary deliverables (engineering calculations, equipment sizing/selections, technical specifications, reports, cost estimates, schedules, reports, etc.) as required for each phase of a project.
  • Employing appropriate design methods in all work to meet relevant standards.
  • Conducting QA/QC of project documents to ensure accuracy of data, information, and calculations.
  • Communicating with team members with promptness, care, and attention to detail.
  • Assisting in proposals, business development, and other marketing efforts as needed.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related Engineering discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience with municipal or industrial water/wastewater systems
  • Local candidate or willingness to relocate to Nashville, TN
  • Registered PE license in Tennessee (preferably also Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina) OR near to obtaining license.
  • Substantial technical background and experience in water or wastewater treatment plant design
  • Strong communications skills
  • Desire to see the GMC Nashville water/wastewater team develop and succeed
  • Working knowledge of technical specifications
  • Software knowledge: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD

Qualifications

(Minimum)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related Engineering discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience with municipal or industrial water/wastewater systems
  • Local candidate or willingness to relocate to Nashville, TN
  • Registered PE license in Tennessee (preferably also Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina) OR near to obtaining license.
  • Substantial technical background and experience in water or wastewater treatment plant design
  • Strong communications skills
  • Desire to see the GMC Nashville water/wastewater team develop and succeed
  • Working knowledge of technical specifications
  • Software knowledge: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD

(Preferred)

  • Master’s Degree in one of the disciplines described above
  • 5+ years of experience with municipal or industrial water/wastewater systems
  • Experience in alternative project delivery methods
  • Relationships with local TN utilities and others in the industry
