Architectural Project Manager

Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately-held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast, with offices located throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina and Tennessee.

GMC has an opening for Architectural Project Manager to support on-going projects in our Mobile, AL office. The PM will be leading an entire architectural project, from budget to implementation.  Visit construction sites to provide recommendations and perform site inspections, and also, will be responsible in procuring construction bids, recruiting and selecting contractors and mediating construction contracts

Essential functions and responsibilities include:

  • Develop and nurture a good relationship with the client management consistent with Company standards
  • Independently applies extensive diversified knowledge of principles and practices broad areas of assignments and related fields
  • Applies knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions
  • Responsible for financial goals, marketing plan and project/client development
  • Responsible for all aspects of project management-development, design, bidding, construction and close-out
  • Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
  • Develops new techniques and/or improved processes, materials or products
  • Responsible for the technical aspects of projects
  • Supervises all staff necessary to complete assignments
  • Reviews and approves scopes, budgets, and schedules for projects
  • Prepares proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for architectural projects or programs
  • Responsible for the financial management of projects
  • Receives supervision and guidance relating to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts and policy matters
  • Receives direction on unusual conditions and developments
  • Possesses advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Represents the Company in all aspects of projects and architectural assignments
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, decision making, time management and delegation skills

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture from an accredited architectural program
  • 8+ of years of relevant experience
  • Architect registered in FL or completed NCARB Program
  • Project Management Experience
  • Ability to lead and mentor others

Travel requirements:

  • Travel to client site and other offices
